Prewrite is the 1st stage of the writing process, followed by drafting, revision, editing and publishing. It is the stage where you reasearch, outline and making diagrams to help you organize your ideas.

It is similar to free write, it involes in thinking and writing down ideas. The difference is that brainstorm is listing ideas and a free write is writing ideas in a paragraph.

You start with the main idea in the middle and then you draw lines to connect to your subtitles or issue. Lines that connect to subtitles are details.

5 W's and 1 H

Who: Who is involved What: What is happening When: When is it happening Where: Where is it happening Why: Why is it happening How: How to deal with it/ How to resolve this problem This type of pre-write is used for writing journals and dealing with issues.

Free Write

Free Write

A free write is where you drop you idea down as soon as it comes up into your head. It should be in sentences, unlike paragraphs, these are some ideas for the begining of a paragraph
